i guess when you've worked really hard for something you really want to achieve,
there's at least a 70% chance you'll get it.
that's what happened for us. we worked hard, attending band practices each week, though sometimes, complaining. hehh. but,
WE, GOT 2ND!
i was so tense alr by 6plus, when we were getting ready to perform. Then when we got on stage, my clarinet was so cold and i couldnt really play loud, partly because i was nervous also. but i did the best i could. Then, the end result: we got 83 point something points! it was a gold :D and we were in 1st division. at first we all thought we got 1st. because we didnt hear the point something part. we started screaming and hugging as soon as we heard 83. (haha) but then people started frowning outside the concert hall. and they started saying we got second. and yes, we actually did. then we cheered ourselves up by doing the TKCheer at the stairs. actually the temasek poly band-or whichever school that is- started cheering first. cos they got first. then we cheered also. haahaa. and we watched the fireworks from the NE show outside, while waiting for our bus. lianne said its like they're celebrating our win. haha.
but overall, i really enjoyed my first competition experience. whatever position we get, i think we did our best as a whole band (;
the sec4s will be leaving the band soon. (after next week actually) which is really sad. i bet we'll all really miss them. Just as we've started to be more bonded, its they're time to leave )): i guess i just wna wish them all the best in whatever they do and whichever school they go to next. i just read yan yao's letter. which is why im inspired to say this. if any of our sec 4 seniors read this: im just really thankful for all you've done for us. and i'll really miss all of you. and im even thankful for all the punishments i got for not practicing, because it made me buck up and be a better clarinetist. if not for them, i prlly wuld have not been able to perform for concert even. so ,thankyou, from the bottom of my heart((; and i really love you all! (:
